Cefpodoxime Proxetil was prescribed by your doctor to treat your infection and alleviate your symptoms. Even if you feel better, do not miss any doses and complete the entire course of treatment. Stopping it too soon could make the infection more difficult to treat.

If you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of the face and mouth, or difficulty breathing, stop taking Cefpodoxime Proxetil and contact your doctor right away. Diarrhea may develop as a side effect, but it should subside once your treatment is over. If it does not stop or if you notice blood in your feces, contact your doctor. Alcohol should not be used while taking Cefpodoxime Proxetil since it may exacerbate negative effects.
